There are some amazing walks on Waiheke island. We are going to try and get to them all but on yet another spectacular spring day here we started local at Onetangi reserve.
With three small domeys in tow the track was perfect, nothing too difficult. Bit of squelchy mud here and there, some bridges and an accompanying chant of 'we're going on a lion hunt' followed suit!
Sadly no exotic/ rare bird sightings today (as hoped for by our entrepid journeyers) but Tui, piwakawaka and Kereru were a plenty. Lots of native fauna to take a closer look at too.
And it was a lovely reprieve from the hot day, walking amoung the shade and the dappled sunlight.
